Melinda is passing through a lot of problems.  Not only that she has conflict with the people around her but she also has inner conflict.  Her character changes greatly from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.  She comes from scared of talking to anyone and also scared of society to finally speaking and saying what really happened.  Even after she told everyone what happened, she was still not relieved.  It took some stress and conflict away but it did not take out the fact that she got raped.  She will always remember when she got raped because it is a nightmare to her.  After all, I respect Melinda Sordino for being a strong person and character for still keeping her head up high and living even after she got raped.  Even when life was hard for her and she had no friends, she still tried to make the best out of it and kept on going to school instead of doing drugs or other bad things.

It is good that Melinda Sordino did not commit suicide and kept on trying to make the best out of what was happening.  She was depressed but did not commit suicide even when she had no friends.

  1. Gaetan, I really enjoyed reading your blog for I learned many interesting things from your posts. I think that they are very inspirational, as they encrouage not only teenagers but anyone going through a harsh time to speak up. Reading your blog definetely helps those who are going through a difficult situation for they can relate to it. Where they had decided to keep things to themselves, you made them realize that speaking up is the ideal thing to do. Keeping things to yourself will lead you to more depressions and will only worsen your life. In the case of Melinda, it will make you antisocial and you can even get to the point of committing suicide. When you keep your problems to yourself, you leave no room for improvement. No one will know what you're going through so they cannot help you. If you want to battle your situation, speak up and let others help you achieve your goal! Dont be afraid to stand up for yourself, you should speak up even if you don't get the answer you were looking for; it's the fact that you said something that matters.

  2. I could see that Melinda had a lot of problems throughout her life time. She didnt want to talk to anyone, or even say why she had called the cops at the party. This was all because of all the shock she had experienced after they had raped her. But I am so proud that she had the courage to tell all her friend why she really had called the cops. When she had got it out of herself, she had felt much better. I just wanted to congratulate you on your blog, you did a get job. I enjoyed reading it a lot.
